THE WHAT? Hong Kong has announced a proposed ban on products containing CBD, putting several brands and businesses at risk, according to a report published by Bloomberg.

THE DETAILS The Asian city boasts multiple shops and cafes that specialize in the popular wellness ingredient, says Bloomberg, which would be forced to close down should the sale of CBD be prohibited.  

THE WHY? CBD has been banned in China and Hong Kong authorities plan to follow suit by the close of the year, pointing to incidences where the substance has degraded into THC after exposure to heat or direct sunlight, Bloomberg reports.
