THE WHAT? Boohoo has snapped up a 7.1 percent stake in Revolution Beauty, according to a statement posted on its website.
THE DETAILS The fashion retailer sells the mass market make-up brand’s products via its D2C websites and online digital department store, Debenhams. Following the acquisition, Boohoo is now Revolution’s fourth largest shareholder.
THE WHY? With Revolution Beauty’s shares plummeting on the back of its auditors discovering accounting discrepancies, Boohoo has presumably secured a deal. The company said in a statement, “The investment builds upon the existing relationship between boohoo and Revolution Beauty… The investment reflects boohoo’s belief in the growth potential of Revolution Beauty and it intends to be a supportive stakeholder and long-term partner.”
