THE WHAT? Grupo Boticário has acquired Brazilian male beauty brand Dr. Jones for an undisclosed sum.

THE DETAILS Grupo Boticário purchased 100 percent of the start-up, which specialises in male grooming products such as beard, hair, skin and bath.

The buy-out expands Grupo Boticário further into the men’s grooming sphere, as well as continue to focus on the digitization of its sales channels.

Dr. Jones will continue to be sold via the brand’s online store, with a medium-term goal to expand the consumer base via Grupo Boticário’s other sales channels.

THE WHY? Fernando Modé, CEO of Grupo Boticário, said, “The acquisition of Dr. Jones consolidates a series of strategic transactions completed over the past few years focusing on accelerating our digitalization program and expanding our brand portfolio. With Dr. Jones, we are strengthening our presence in the male beauty segment, a booming market with strong growth potential.”
