THE WHAT? LG Household & Health Care has named Lee Jung-ae as Chief Executive Officer, the first woman to step into the top job in the company’s history, according to a report published by Korea JoongAng Daily.
THE DETAILS Lee replaces Cha Suk-yong, who is stepping down after 18 years in the role. Prior to her appointment, Lee has headed the marketing dept of LG’s beverage unit.
THE WHY? The company said in a statement, per Korea JoongAng Daily, “Lee has a good understanding of all business areas of the company, from cosmetics to beverages and household goods.”
