THE WHAT? L’Oréal Canada’s Professional Products division is set to launch a free online Diversity and Inclusion training program, available to all Canadian hair stylists, regardless of their brand affiliation.
THE DETAILS The French beauty brand reveals that some 50 percent of Canadians have diverse hair types, classified as types 1, 3 and 4, which require specific training to cut, style and color expertly. The training will span three years with six modules in the first year focused on cutting, the second year focusing on styling and the third year on color. On completion of the program, hairstylists will be certified as allies and receive a decal to display in their salon window to let clients know that they are committed to upskilling on all hair types.
THE WHY? With the launch of its Power of the Collective program, L’Oréal Canada hopes to educate every stylist on the diversity of hair types to foster an inclusive and trusted salon environment for all clients.
Vice-President of L’Oréal Canada’s Professional Products Division, Stephan Arsenault, explains, “L’Oréal Canada’s Professional Products Division is strongly committed to diversity in the industry, and we are fully mobilised to help hairstylists diversify and enrich their expertise. With the objective to train over 10,000 hairstylists in Canada, the potential reach is significant, and we collectively have the power to bring a real change to the Canadian hair industry.”
Injectable aesthetics are popular due to their ability to provide noticeable results with minimal downtime compared to surgical procedures. They are versatile and can be tailored to meet individual aesthetic goals, whether it's enhancing lips, restoring facial volume, or smoothing out wrinkles. However, they should always be administered by qualified professionals to ensure safety and achieve optimal results.
Injectable aesthetics are used to enhance facial features, reduce the signs of aging, and improve overall facial symmetry and appearance.
Key types of injectable aesthetics include:
-
Dermal Fillers: These injectables are used to add volume, fill in wrinkles and folds, and enhance facial contours. They often contain substances like hyaluronic acid, collagen, or calcium hydroxylapatite, which help plump up the skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Botulinum Toxin (Botox): Botulinum toxin injections temporarily relax facial muscles that cause wrinkles and lines to form. It is commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow's feet around the eyes.
-
Collagen Stimulators: These injectables stimulate the body's own collagen production, helping to improve skin texture and firmness over time. Examples include poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse).
-
Neurotoxin Injections: Besides Botox, other neurotoxins such as Dysport and Xeomin are used similarly to reduce wrinkles and lines.
